day 1
wow. what a day. introductions in the morning, a sharing of hot button issues, lunch, developer meetings, hacking, dinner, more hacking. not a lot to show that's fun and interesting yet to those outside, but it's been awesome to see everyone, meet a few new faces and get the wheels rolling on a number of things. by the end of the sprint, there will be significant positive changes to be seen all over the place. but it's 01:00 and i'm heading back to the hotel to go to sleep so i can get up first thing in the morning.

The speed at which Plasma has developed as a viable Kdesktop, Kicker, et al replacement has always been amazing for me; it seems that Plasma development has always been "in a sprint", so to speak. It makes me wonder if these sprints would be more accurately described as "Plasma full breakneck runs" or "Super hyperactive Plasma magic-casting sessions fueled by the Ballmer peak and coffee". :P
Keep up the good work.
I second Jonathan's post. I am continually amazed with plasma development, the rate in which bugs are dealt with (some of my bugs even had same day turn around!). I am at the edge of my seat for 4.1
Rock on! :D
Maybe it should be called a supernova. They're impressive events that don't happen too often which cast off lots of plasma.
You've been to CNR in Milano? I've been doing an internship at the IPP in Garching (at the ASDEX Tokamak) once (heck, that's more than 10 years ago now)... and I'm still amazed of what has been achieved so far (have you seen the plasma inside a reactor during a shot?)
Probably they could learn from KDE... at least the Plasma is a lot more stable in KDE than in the world of nuclear physics ;)
