got an email today from one of the kblogger devs saying that the gdata backed works. this is a test entry i'm writing using kblogger from svn, and so far things look good.
for an app that's still in playground and rather new, i'm pretty impressed with the current state of affairs. it even imported the media (mostly pictures) i've used in previous entries. neat.
getting the blog ID out of blogger.com was a bit of a pain, though. had to hunt around the blogger interface for it, finally noticed it in some of the link urls on the dashboard pages while mousing over them.
other than that, it's been a pretty slick experience thus far. i'm not sure i'm a big fan of the progress dialogs, but then i hate popups in general. however, that's a small price to pay if this means i don't have to deal with a web browser to blog anymore.
colour me happy.
i can't wait to see what this app becomes when kde 4.1 rolls around.
(p.s. i just noticed that there is a kicker applet called kblogger. they don't seem to be related ... though the applet kblogger's webpage uses the same (generic) kde blogging icon =)

Sounds interesting. Maybe as my first ever kde contribution I could write a script for it to find your blogger id automatically.
please make a kpart of t, so it can be integrated into kontact.
Is there a website for this project?
i'd like to see some full sized screenshots of the interface, it sounds interesting.
checked out svn now, i'm pretty amazed by the current state of this piece of software!
I mean, wow! There is alot of Mac software which you would have to pay for, doing the same thing.
Media managing? Awesome :)
Eih aroon, i'm using the kicker applet from a while, and it's amazing with wordpress! I think is actually the same project!! Just compile the laest beta and try it! http://kblogger.pwsp.net/
bye!
Hi, it is the same. The new version is mostly redone by Antonio and not an applet anymore, but rather a systray app.
I've done the applet some time ago, but am now focused on KBlog in kdepimlibs as a sane lib for blogging stuff.
javier: Currently KBlogger does not implement the listBlogs call from KBlog and therefore can not get your Blog automatically. You are welcomed to hack the config dialog, as it is not straightforward at the moment.
Cheers,
Christian
I tried it out at Dreamwidth, a fairly new place with code forked from Live Journal's open source code. It worked, though, slightly crashy. I'm so glad I have something to use on KDE!
