take that sweden!

sure, sweden may have won gold in hockey. and they may have produced abba. but norway is not about to just lay down and let sweden take all the glory, oh no!

not only is norway home to trolltech (which sort of somehow makes up for the hockey thing) but they've arranged the definitive answer to those dancing queen abba poofs: behold! hurra torpedo!

don't miss them performing their, uh, "hit" single cover of total eclipse of the heart. it's inspiring. you'll want to dance to it, make love to it, destroy the kitchen stove to it. they even have their own rockumentary, replete with groupie girls, roadies, busted gigs and moron tour managers.

take that sweden!

(and now you know what i did last saturday due to it being too cold outside to comfortably do something more meaningful)

i wonder if hasbro makes aslag guttormsgaard action figures?

in related (and yet .. unrelated) news .... for valentines peyton made these cool little heart encrusted envelope things with a fancy, glistening plastic sleeve in them for both his mom and me. in the sleeve was a cd with a really great (and even thematic) song by ben harper on it: "everything to me". he even drew up cd covers for them. the kicker: the cd's are burned. apparently one of the teachers or someone brought them in. apparently in canada we teach children how to express their love and "share" music on that hallowed day in february.

take that riaa!

Norway seems like a cool place :). Just a bit -too- cold.
They're also home to Opera; and last I checked, in the same building as Trolltech :-).

actually trolltech just recently moved offices and are no longer in the same building as opera.

it was pretty neat that they were one floor down from each other =)

I'm suprised Canada missed the sweet spots in the olympic hockey.

Before the tournament I ranked the teams

1. Canada
2. Russia
3. Sweden, Finland, Czech
4. US, Slovakia

You should've seen the Finns when they lost the hockey. Ha ha. (But Australia are the real Winter Olympics powerhouse! We beat Finland! Ha HA!)

Also, Bomfunk MCs are Finnish. I defy Norway to beat that.
