GetHotNewStuff; serindipity

Annma mentioned how Enrico Ross implemented a new GetHotNewStuff dialog. i thought i'd offer a screenshot of it:
Enrico rocks! note that this is not the final version, but a first revision. still, pretty nice indeed! perhaps fewer bevels ;)

tonight i was chatting with my neighbour in her living room about cinema and we were trying to remember the name of a certain Adam Sandler movie (it was a long path from Y tu mamá también to Adam Sandler. heh.) and as we were trying to remember the title of it the "Prime Ticket Movie" came on her television and it was ...... Mr. Deeds, the movie we were trying to remember the title of. creepy.

well, it would be if such things didn't happen on a disturbingly regular basis.

Heh. I know what you mean ;)
Like that time when I was trying to figure out what that cool spacefighting game I used to play as a kid was called, and just when I was about to give up, there was a story on /. about Escape Velocity...
(best game ever made without Shigeru Miyamoto's involvement)

Than you for deleting the "because I read p.g.o" it was inflamatory and would make you look like a totally ass, and lately you have talked loot s of bs, so just wtfu and start coding.

I don't see why he should have deleted it to be honest. It's his opinion, after all.

The only reason F-Spot is touted as a killer app is because it's written in Mono, and as such, seems to be some sort of showcase. F*****g wow. I'm impressed. It doesn't die when you put photos into it ;). Apart from the fact that digiKam easily excels it, looks far better and generates less in the hot air department, there are many Windows apps that perform just as adequate a function if not better. F-Spot is just not a killer app for desktop Linux/Unix or even Gnome. I certainly don't know where all that comes from to be honest, and is something we've had rather too much of for many years now.

aseigo, lowercase(tm), tells it like it is.

This GetHotNewStuff thing looks as if it is going to be wonderful, and I'm sure there are many ways in which it could be used that haven't been scratched yet.

@adrian: yeah, i love you too. and btw, "bullshit" refers to things that are inaccurate not things you don't want to hear ;)

@segendunum: well, i had been out partying most of the night and wasn't in the most clear frame of mind when i wrote that entry. so i decided to remove it.

look world! i'm fallible! =P

and whether or not it's right, wrong, sad or whatever ... not all of my personal opinions are worth sharing, especially as people are actually paying attention.

Remember kids, don't drink and blog. :)

I want new GHNS dialog noooow! Probably it'll have to wait until amaroK 2.0, unless we can just stick it in amaroK source tree.
